Self-Care Art Journaling 101: Fri Jan 26th, 6:00-8:00pm

22.00

It's the new year, and It's a perfect time to start attending to your self-care! Join Rachel Gronbach, a counselor and artist, to learn some basic art-journaling skills and how they can be used to tend to your emotional wellbeing.

Art journaling is a creative way to explore your thoughts, feelings, needs, and dreams. A regular practice of art journaling can help you gain clarity about yourself and your life, provide a healthy way to vent distressing feelings, and keep you inspired to pursue your goals. And because of its flexible nature, it's an easy way to get creative on a daily basis.

In this class, we'll talk about and practice various art journaling techniques. All techniques will be ones that are easy for most people to do at home. We'll be using common household supplies like magazines, glue sticks, scissors, markers, and scraps of paper.

Please bring to the class a journal or notebook to create in. It can be a journal you're already working on, a lined notebook, or even pieces of paper hole-punched and put into a binder--your art journal can be anything! If you aren't able to bring one or would like something new, Make Room will offer several options for sale at the time of the class.

This class will provide a laid-back, fun, and creative atmosphere where you can feel free to experiment! Not "artistic"? Don't worry about it! People of all skill levels and artistic backgrounds are welcome.
