¡Viva La Frida! : Sat Nov 4th, 7:00-9:00pm

30.00

Join us on Saturday November 4th from 7:00-9:00pm to Create and Celebrate one of art's greatest heroines, Frida Kahlo.  ¡Viva La Frida! is the first in Make Room's series of monthly Art Events that align with the full moon.

Artist Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyocoán, Mexico City, Mexico. Considered one of Mexico's greatest artists, Frida Kahlo began painting after she was severely injured in a bus accident. Kahlo later became politically active and married fellow communist artist Diego Rivera in 1929. She exhibited her paintings in Paris and Mexico before her death in 1954.  Her uncompromising portrayal of the female form, political themes, class structures, beauty, and struggle makes Frida a global icon worth honoring.

“I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality.”

—Frida Kahlo
