Sculpture Camp (7th-12th Grade Session)

Sculpture Camp (7th-12th Grade Session)

Monday July 16th - Thursday July 19th, 1:00pm-4:00pm

Teens: Join us in our studio for a week of sculpting!  Students in grades 7-12 will create projects throughout the week that will help them realize their 3D potential!

We'll try new things while exploring both additive and subtractive sculpture.  Materials like clay, plaster, wire, and found objects will be at our fingertips throughout the week.  Grades 7-12 will learn about tools and tool safety while we test the limits of materials.  At Make Room, we believe

Tool Knowledge+Material Knowledge= EVERYTHING

We'll discover:

  • Making Mobiles:  Working with multiple materials to create balance by adding harmonious pieces together into a hanging masterpiece
  • Subtractive Sculpture:  Carving away from a solid block like Michelangelo to reveal an abstract form
  • Making Copies:  Making rubber molds of a small object and casting a copy in metal.  High school students will learn how to safely handle molten metal at low temperatures.

Price is all-inclusive.  All campers will receive a Camp T-Shirt.
